DIY Easel Window – PlexiGlass Easel Dupe

I kept getting ad targeted for this beautiful plexiglass easel that I knew our playroom didn’t have room for. I have always wanted an easel in there but the space just doesn’t make sense for one. Especially after I renovated it and added custom built-ins! We have a DIY easel on the wall in my office, but it is soo far from the playroom!

The good idea fairy strikes

Then one morning my daughter was drawing with her window crayons on the big glass sliding door in there and a great idea struck me! I just needed some sort of shelf for her paint and she could use that as a HUGE easel like she does with the kitpas window crayons (amazon affiliate link). I was thinking something like a plexiglass bird feeder that people put in their windows would work perfectly!

DIY Easel Window

I was able to order these shelves (a pack of two 12-inch) (amazon affiliate link) for same-day delivery and it works perfectly! It is honestly way sturdier than I need it to be for light paints, and has a ledge on the front so they can’t fall into her while she works. Honestly I am obsessed and I love seeing how large she paints on the sliding door! A fun contrast to sitting at a table and using small wrist movements.
