Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s day is upon us, and I’m here with your brilliant last minute Mother’s Day Gifts! Maybe your original gift isn’t going to make it in time or maybe you lost track of the days because, #COVID. Fear not because I have a quick list of the BEST last-minute Mother’s Day gifts you could give, that still show how much you love that lady! There’s no harm in giving her ALL of these ideas, BTW. The first three shouldn’t cost you a dime unless you throw in a beverage! PS – the very best (free) gift you can give her is telling her how much you appreciate and love her, everyday!

1. Gift her Alone-time

Now, not every mother wants this, but I mean…lot’s of moms do. Give mom some alone! even just a house to herself. Then she can do whatever it is she needs or wants to do without any interruptions. You can do a quick search to see if any local spas are open, but if not, ask her if she’d like some uninterrupted time to just care of herself.

2. Plan Family-time

On the flip-side of that coin, mama might just want to enjoy some fun with the family. Give her breakfast in bed (that feels like it should be a standard for Mother’s day) or plan a picnic even just in the backyard. Make sure she doesn’t have to pack the picnic or do anything other than enjoy her people. You can also have the kiddos make her mother’s day cards (again, a standard), play board games together, take a family walk, etc. Just make a plan of activities that doesn’t involve her having to choose, plan, or clean up. Even taking your own family photo would be a great idea! You could even make it a fun one by mixing up who is who (read that idea here). SO many great last minute Mother’s Day gifts can be given through family time!

3. A Best Friend Date

Since we can’t exactly go many places right now, how about giving her a few uninterrupted hours to catch up with her BFF on a Zoom or Facetime date? Maybe throw in a bottle of her favorite wine or other beverage if you can get it. 😉 As always, the key to this is the no interruptions part! Also, check with said friend to make sure they are available.

4. Local Products or Services

See if any local businesses or services are open! A few ideas might be gifting a house cleaning service, a babysitter during the week, spa services or products, a family photo session, or a closet clean-out by the amazing Martine A La Mode  (which she would DIE for btw, I don’t know a single person that wouldn’t!). I can promise you there are loads of photographers in your area and lots of small businesses are still able to sell products. If you happen to be local to our base, Pure Skincare Lounge is still open (and AMAZING), as well as Boldspectrum, a bath bomb business, and More Than That Candle Co.

5. Teach her how to use that camera

I don’t mean you teach her of course, I mean gift her enrollment to my new online photography course, Manual Mode for Moms! This course teaches you how to dust that camera off and capture gorgeous photographs of your family. I guarantee that students will feel confident using their cameras by the end of the course! If you or someone else already bought her a camera, this is the perfect companion gift to show her how much you love her. It shows her that you support her pursuits and care about your family’s visual legacy. Contact me if you have any questions, and let me know if you’re gifting it and I will send you a personalized gift certificate.
